June has seen the end of another school year. Most of our younger children managed to pass their exams at The Good Shepherd and look forward to moving up a grade. Our older children have also enjoyed their first year at High School and are eagerly waiting for the results of their exams. Hopefully this will bring good news and all will be able continue to the next level.
Binish has just returned to Our Home after spending 6 months on a leadership course in Mumbai. This has been a great learning experience for Binish and will benefit all at Our Home. Binish attended his Graduation ceremony on the 5th July and has returned full of confidence. Well done Binish.
Rajeeve has managed to complete the first year of his Hotel Management Degree. It has been a hard year for Rajeeve as there has been little finance available to keep him at school all year. Never the less Rajeeve made the most of what was available to him and is presently taking his end of year exams. We are all eagerly waiting for his results and wish him all the best for his hard work.
Kala is our first child to leave Our Home and study. Kala has been living in Bangalore for the last 3 years doing her Nursing Degree which is almost complete. At present she is on placement at a hospital in Bangalore. All at Our Home are very proud of Kalas effort, she has worked hard and is an inspiration to all children. A huge thank you must go to Irene, a very generous sponsor from Perth who has payed all of Kalas tuition and made it possible for Kala to find work and make her own way in life.
It has been a struggle finding the money for education but we managed to make it through and now set our sights on next year. We have been very fortunate to get a generous donation from Mark in Melbourne which has allowed us to cover most school fees for our children this year. Many thanks to all our sponsors for playing a major role in the education of our children and giving them the opportunity to study.
Our Home relies entirely on the generosity of donors and ongoing sponsors who enable us to continue to care for orphaned and homeless children. Together, we form an extended Our Home Family committed to making lasting change in the lives of our children.DONATE
